Dr. Berg talks about the power of intermittent fasting.
This is not a diet, but a pattern of eating.
Why does it work?
Because it triggers Growth Hormone and inhibits insulin.
The purpose of intermittent fasting is to lower insulin, take the stress off insulin and the gland that makes it – pancreas, and thus restore your metabolism. This can heal a plateaued set-point. If you have fat in your mid-section, then we know you have high insulin.

INSULIN RESISTANCE:

WHAT TO EAT:

Start with 3 meals per day, no snacking.
Then do 3 meals per day but only eating your 3 meals in a 8 hour window, thus fasting for 16 hours.
Ultimately, you want to fast for 20 hours and eat within a 4 hour window – 2 meals per day. If you add exercise, high intensity interval training, you can greatly enhance Growth Hormone even more.

  1. What do you recommend for kids between 10 and 12 years old? My daughter is heavy (belly fat) and seems to never feel full. I think I have had too much snacking and sugary things available to her and just told her to trust her body. I don’t think her body sends her clear signals.

  2. I have been fasting for a while 16 – 8 but have gone longer, however, I eat cashews or pumpkins seeds in between meals. I know this may sound silly but would the nuts and seeds be considered a snack?

  3. What's funny is I kinda have always done this without realizing it, probably why I've never gained much weight even though I eat a lot.

  4. I got used to eating 1 meal a day in one day lol, it's incredibly easy but I haven't really lost much fat if at all (this is my 5th day into it so maybe it takes more time, +I do HIIT workouts every 2 days and jog every morning for an hour so maybe it'll take 1 or 2 months before seeing some improvements)

  5. Dr. Berg, I love the content you share, you breakdown a lot info to its simplicity. You have helped me to understand Keto and IF. Thank you
