  5. B12 is from bacteria, but found in meat. I'm a pescatarian but generally avoid dairy products. I take B12 vitamins in case I don't eat enough fish. I'm sure there are types of foods that have been infused with vitamin B12, but I have never seen that. From what I know and what the doctors and nutritionists that I've seen all say that vitamin B12 is in meat products. If you don't get enough then your body starts getting really exhausted, you gain weight easier, and it could contribute to an iron deficiency in women. This "episode" basically made no sense. Just take vitamins that your doctor or nutritionist have told or suggested and you will be fine. (I'm not a health care professional, so don't take this the wrong way. I'm just stating what I have experienced the 1 year that I have been a vegetarian and another year being a pescatarian.)
