More about this bag from their site: (
They told us to start with a sales pitch.

“People don’t care who you are,” said They.

Well, that’s not how we roll. This is about more than “shifting units” and “maximising shareholder returns” (mostly because we don’t have any shareholders to tell us to maximise their returns).

We’re here because we care about crafting tools that help you move faster, and go further.

The Minaal Carry-on 2.0 is the next-gen version of our sold-out Carry-on 1.0.

Concocted in rural New Zealand, and mercilessly travel-tested over millions of collective worldwide miles on the road, it’s built for every moment you step out the door with a destination in mind.

We focused on three core principles to drive the Carry-on design:
Will this bag help you move faster and more efficiently?
Will this bag bring joy to the travel experience?
Will you be proud to wear this bag to a meeting, and utterly unafraid to take it off-road?
The result? A backpack that’s super light, yet protects your expensive devices. A travel carry-on that speeds you through airport security and avoids the dreaded ‘carousel tango’ at the other end. And more than just a backpack, or a travel bag: a companion that knows when to help you organize, and when to get out of your way.

Every component is hand-selected for exceptional performance; every stitch is personally inspected before heading to your door. We back all our gear with a lifetime warranty against defects, and we take pride in our ongoing personal support for all users.

There’s a ton of extra info below, and a passionate community of Minaal users to connect with around the globe. If you have any questions, we’d be truly stoked to hear from you.

See you on the road,
Jimmy, Doug, & the Minaal team

  1. Not the bag for me, but you make me laugh out loud dude. (Well breathe aggressively out of my nose at lease).

  2. Your reviews would be so awesome if you weren't so annoying… Lay off the Adderall for the next video please Chase?

  3. It's like Plants vs Zombie with the sounds & addictive to watch till the end of video. Guys, all other comments dated one year ago, am I too outdated to review this bag?

  4. Anyone got some tips for packing this thing's main compartment? Just can't get to grips with the fact you have to pack in the front with the front down rather the back and it's really hard to keep a full fill balanced while zipping up. I love the bag but the lack of structure makes this really hard. What are your techniques to make it work?

  5. You know what would be really helpful? A video reviewing the best bags that specifically eliminate the travel drag. I have watched this video a dozen times and this is the first time I've really heard that part and realized THAT'S IT!! That's the thing I'm trying to get rid of!! Minaal can't be the only bag that helps with this and it would be really cool to see a video or small series of videos about the bags for those of us who are more interested in minimal travel with no drag and not just how much can I take before they make me check the bag.

  6. Hi, I have a question please about these packing cubes if you have 5 min to answer. Do you think we can fit others packing cubes (bigger) if we dont want to use Minaal packing cubes ? Like an only 1 Large packing ((like almost a 49*33*10) ? Because these 2 small packing cube upon the medium one seems too small (for me) so before to buy the bag I am searshing the best optimised packing cube for this bag (1 large or 2 medium)), and do you think if the two pockets are full inside the main compartment, a 10cm packing cubes fit still well (i thingthe answer is yes but I ask just in case) ? Thank you a lot in advance for your answer 🙂

  7. At 10:10 you mention it fitting under the seat even packed out. Will it really? It looks huge. The published dimensions of the bag exceed some airlines' under-seat storage allowance. Just curious if you've ever had issues trying to put under a seat.

  8. Oh now we're talkin! That separate shoulder strap is actually smart! So I can cover the main shoulder straps (briefcase mode) and then use a single shoulder strap for left-shoulder throw over. Plus, with the connect points, I can pick any shoulder strap I want. I like it!
