  4. I'm 22 and had a PE when I was 18. After having a 4th knee surgery,an emergency appendetomy, and being on Yasmin, it developed. I'll never forget that day and how the doctor explained how it was just small enough to let just enough blood through to survive.

  5. My dad survived and cheated out PE's death clock…It's a blessing that we got him in on time. Luckily, no damage was done to his heart and he should be out of the hospital Monday. He will be on Coumadin and the blood thinner diet, so I really hope nothing like this happens ever again. Unfortunately, PE is traced in my family history. But my daddy will always be my inspiration; he is my Superman.
PE is very scary and life threatening…if you notice anything unusual, always go to the doctor.

  6. My own relative had no symptoms before he passed on from this condition. And had big clots to be removed by open heart and it was to much of a shock for him to tolerate, with his brain being deprived of oxygen when his heart stopped 3x.

  7. @xdunlapx . . . Thanks for the clarification. . . I stand corrected. What I probably should have said was as pieces broke from the embolus, by whatever physiologic process, they traveled into smaller vessels causing intense pain. Thankfully, I had a recent chest CT scan for a different reason and the clot has apparently dissolved.

  8. @FFgod1000 The BC pill can actually cause it too. BC is NOT natural. It does cause cardiovascular damage if unchecked, depending on what medication you are one. Generally, what I've found as a rule of thumb is that if it isn't natural it hurts your body. The mother of my daughter is a nurse and I learned all kinds of nasty stuff about drugs you think are safe. I actually went to lunch with a pharmaceutical rep trying to push her drugs and the shit she said was practically demonic.
