How to Make the PERFECT Instant Pot Rice - White Rice, Brown Rice and Wild Rice

Everyone likes their rice different. I like mine a little sticky, soft and fluffy. This is how I make it! Now if you need to make more rice, just double the recipe and keep the time the same!

Now the recipes are the same for any kind of rice. You just have to change the time. Here are the times to make the PERFECT Instant Pot Rice.

White & Basmati Rice: 4-8 minutes
Brown Rice: 22-24 minutes
Wild Rice: 25-30 minutes

Here is how you cook sticky rice:
INGREDIENTS
1 cup rice
1 1/4 cup water

INSTRUCTIONS
Rinse rice under cold running water until the water runs clear.
Lock the lid and set the steam valve to its “sealing” position. Select the RICE button, MANUAL button or HIGH PRESSURE button or follow the cooking chart below. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 9 to10 minutes and then release any remaining pressure. Fluff rice with a fork and serve.

Here is how you make the PERFECT rice that is not sticky! Let’s call it Panda Express Rice. ha ha.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup rice
1 1/4 cup water
1 tsp . cooking oil
1 pinch salt

INSTRUCTIONS
Rinse rice under cold running water until the water runs clear.
Add oil to the Instant Pot along with the rinsed rice (still damp), water and salt.
Lock the lid and set the steam valve to its “sealing” position. Select the “RICE” button or follow the cooking chart below. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes and then release any remaining pressure. Fluff rice with a fork and serve.

Now if you get done cooking and your rice isn’t how you like it, go ahead and put the lid back on and cook for a few more minutes!

  1. Is this how people measure rice – it's like a heaping cup of rice?!!! This is not how you measure things – hence why we should weigh all of our ingredients!
