On the Instant Pot Facebook page I asked what you all wanted and there were tons of people who wanted to see fall soups! So here is one of my favorites! The BEST Instant Pot Beef Stew! The best part is you can throw everything in, set it, and dinner is done! No other steps required! I love serving this with rolls and a salad.

Instant Pot recipe:

INGREDIENTS:

1 (1 pound) package baby carrots
3 russet potatoes, peeled and cut
2 pounds beef stew meat
2 cups beef stock
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 onion, diced
3 ribs celery, diced
1 cup frozen green peas

INSTRUCTIONS:
Place all ingredients in the Instant Pot. Stir just enough to mix spices. Cover and cook on manual or high pressure for 30 minutes.

If you are cooking for 1-2 people I would suggest the 3 Quart. If you are cooking for more, I would suggest the 6 quart!

  1. Lipton Onion Soup/Dip mix is loaded with MSG. MSG is a neurotoxin – yes, poison to your brain. Plus, it is an appetite stimulant, makes you eat more than you should. I wish people would stop using it in recipes and promoting it.

  2. Ketchup on my beef stew? No thanks. But we all have some odd combination that we like and often that is something we caught on to when we were kids. I saw my sister eating her oatmeal by putting it on toast and I tried it and liked it. Now 70 years later I have to have toast loaded with oatmeal. When my mom made home made noodles she always made mashed potatoes and we ate our noodles on top of the mashed potatoes. So Ketchup on top of beef stew doesn't sound all that odd to me. Anyway I am gettting ready to try your recipe right now.

  4. Hi. Although it’s not Fall, I made this today. I didn’t have any beef broth but did have chicken broth. Was a bit skeptical, but oh my goodness! Absolutely delicious! Thank you for this fabulous recipe!!

  5. Just picked up the 8 Quart Instant Pot from Sams Club for our family of 6. I plan to make this as my first Instant Pot meal. The problem I'm having is most recipes are for the 6 quart models. I could adjust the ingredients slightly, but then then cooking time should change too right? Also joined the FB group!

  6. We did leave the salt n pepper out of our go at this and it came out great. Easy enough to add in afterwards. Makes 4 servings for me though I only put two up in the fridge for left overs. On those I added some "California Cut" mixed vegetables of in shell peas, carrots, squash and peppers? from frozen. There are many choices. Heat up your serving of stew, heat up a good size serving of Vegetables, put em together. After a day or two any stew can start being homogeneous. This renewed it. My wife doesn't like stew or beans so I'll probably halve this to have a couple nights, not one big meal and two extras.

  7. I didn’t add the onion soup mix. Other than that, there is no seasoning what so ever! To make it worse, I only had unsalted bone broth on the shelf. I had to add a lot of salt. Red wine would be great in there too instead. The potatoes and carrots were complete mush! The broth was like soup. I had to remove the chunks and add a cornstarch to make it a gravy. Next time I will use mini potatoes and carrots in foil on top so it doesn’t get mushy.

  8. Went to fast when you put the timer…you press Pressure cooker? Or the Meat Stew option? I just got my pot. No idea how to use it.

  9. I'm so happy to see that you just dumped it all in and left it!! I just got my Instapot and that was the one turn off for me…have to pressure cook the meat, then add veggies and do it more…also I like using the dry mixes and You're the 1st one I've seen doing this so, Thank you for that! I don't have time to measure everything out…I'm a dump it and leave it kinda girl!!

  10. HELP! I followed your directions for beef stew. I got the burn message. I scraped the bottom of the pot before putting the lid on. This isn’t the first time this has happened. Spaghetti sauce is a nightmare.

  11. Does pot size matter? I got an 8 qt pot for Christmas and also a recipe book. But 90 pecent of the recipes call a for a 6 qt pot

  12. The vegetables appear to be overdone when in for that long. What is the solution for meat and vegetable recipes. Talking roasts and vegies.
