LET'S MAKE A BOX CAKE IN THE INSTANT POT OH YES YOU CAN

I was surprised to find out you can make a box cake in the instant pot so i had to try it.. I had made one before but not with a box mix.. I just love my instant pot.. It was pretty easy to make just pick out a cake mix of your choice and make it make sure you have a baking dish that will fit the instant pot..DON”T FORGET TO PUT 1 CUP OF WATER INSIDE THE STEAL POT Put in the pot hit the cake button and that’s it 40 minutes late there is a beautiful cake and so moist melts in your mouth.. I just couldn’t beleive it.. 40 minutes seemed long but it does free up your oven if your doing some cooking.. would i make it again oh yes i will now I want to see if they other flavors taste as good and moist..
Frosting recipe I used for the cake..
Creamy white frosting
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
4 1/2 cups sifted powered sugar
3-4 Tablespoons milk or water
____________________________________________________
Beat shortening and vanilla
with electric mixer
slowly add half of powered sugar
mixing well
then add 2 tablespoon of milk or water
gradually beat in remaining powered sugar
Enjoy… From our home to yours..

  1. Do you put water at the bottom of the Insta pot? Or is the pot dry, and you just put the trivet in with the cake pan on top?

  2. I have The power pressure cooker XL, same idea I talked all of my female relatives into buying one especially after making lasagna and they’re all too scared to use it, LOL which is hilarious because it’s actually really hard to hurt yourself! Also growing up we made peanut butter frosting all the time!! I was taught … in real frosting you should use butter ( also in my opinion) but instead of using butter for our peanut butter frosting recipe we would omit the butter and use peanut butter I just wonder how only 2 tablespoons of peanut butter in a shortening-based frosting would give you that rich peanut buttery taste? I guess I’ll have to try it! Before I snob it! Lol. I have a very old Better homes red + white plaid cook book, I’m curious to see if it has that shortening frosting recipe, if I ‘ HAVE TO’ use shortening for a frosting I guess I’d want to try the butter flavored Crisco since all the sorts of healthy inclusions are not the basis (IE Shortening/ Lard over Real Butter) also why your I.P read 40 mins & you seemed a lil baffled is these electric pressure cookers take 10 mins to build steam, so really it did “ bake” I’m sure at the recommended 30 mins. 🤔😉 I just LOVE these pots & to take 30-40 mins to make ROCK HARD FROZEN Meat meal tender & fall off the bone & theeee BEST & DEFINITELY EASIEST LASAGNA I’ve ever seen.. just makes me love love & LOVE MY Power Pressure Cooker XL ( Again same idea LOTSA Different brands out there now) Mine took a nasty suicidal leap off the top of my cabinetry where it was stored & now only has one arm.. so next time I may purchase an even bigger electric pressure cooker especially if on sale. I LOL at how Instant Pot Custs seem to think that, that name of Insta Pot was or is the first type of electric pressure cooker appliance. Maybe it’s the catchier name ? Maybe it doesn’t sound as intimidating? Also an I.P for $6 at a thrift store!! OMG!! Lucky score! I LOVE finding treasures like that! The local Goodwill here is hands down theeee most laughingly EXPENSIVE thrift store I’ve ever seen! I understand it goes to do good but it’s a shame here anyways!

  3. I too found an instant pot lux 8 quarts at Goodwill. Oh I love it. I made chicken veg soup, homemade ground turkey chili with red, black and pintos. Oh this is so wonderful. I'm going to try your bunt cake dish in my instant pot too. Oh my goodness! it just turned out so moist and rich, I'm telling all my friends and children and grandchildren and great grandchildren how good the bunt cake is so Delicious making with a pressure cooker. Thank you Grammie so very much for sharing your easy steps. Oh yes you can! God bless you and your family.

  4. Great video! This was super helpful because my wife and I were wondering if you could make a box cake in there. I'm glad you just pressed "cake" and didn't touch anything else so we could see that it works.

  5. I guess this is the best way to make it because you get to keep the moisture inside. With oven biggest issue is that it dries out.

  6. I am going to recommend this video to all my friends and family, mainly just to show them the part where she struggles to put the lid on. Had me in stitches.
